FAQs
What is the difference between midwives and doulas?
Midwives provide medical care during your pregnancy, birth and immediate postpartum period. Doula’s DO NOT provide medical care. Instead doula’s provide support emotionally, psychically and through education and informative care during pregnancy, birth, grief & loss , reproductive experiences, postpartum periods and even beyond.
Do you only support certain types of birth?
I support a variety of different types of birth including home births, hospital births and birthing centers. I DO NOT support unassisted births! Unassisted births are outside of my scope of practice because I am not a medical practitioner.
why should I book a doula?
Studies have shown that the presence of doula’s has reduced intervention and help clients have better birth outcomes. for more information
